The new charging device for the ZAP XEBRA electric vehicles takes only “minutes” not hours to fully recharge the batteries. In fact, ZAP is saying that you can recharge your XEBRA car or truck while having your lunch. Of course, if you have either a 110 or 220-volt outlet handy.Normally these cute electric cars take almost six hours to refill their drained accumulators but the fast charger provides it with up to 100 amps or 10,000 watts of electricity significantly reducing the charging time (although, the company carefully avoids disclosing the real recharging time).
The new charger may be connected to a 240-volt, 60 amp circuit or 208-volt, 3-phase, 50 amp circuit and is similar to those used at Southwest Airlines, America West Airlines, the Toronto Pearson International Airport, and Arizona Public Service for recharging their fleets.

It costs hefty $9,000 but can qualify for a Federal 30 percent tax credit.
