Youtube Harry Potter Order of the Phoenix Trailer Thoughts

I don’t know about anyone else out there in bloggyland, but I am SUPER excited about this. July 13th I’m going to be here, that’s for sure. I am a huge fan of the books, and even though the movies are not exactly aligned with the books, it’ll still be a great visual feast.

As I was watching the trailer above, one of the lines caught my attention:

“Every great wizard in history has started out as nothing more than what we are now. If they can do it, why not us?”

It got me to thinking. Christ-followers today have a tendency to be somewhat intimidated when they see other people or hear the things that other stronger believers say. From intimidation comes exasparation; they continually are bombarded with people who are stronger than they are and they just quit trying all together. Whether it’s reading the Bible, praying, playing a musical instrument, it could be anything, really.

What this boils down to is that this life is not a contest. People may try and make it out to be one, but in the end, it boils down to not who has the most money or who has prayed the most, but who has done God’s Will for them.

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33

“Every great Christian in history has started out as nothing more than what we are now. If they can do it, why not us?”

Well… why not us?
