Wp-SlimStat 0.9.2 is a statistic plugin for WordPress. At first, I started using a plugin written by Jeff Minard, and Markus Kammerer, but the latest version didn’t have all of the features that I needed. So I started working on SlimStat, that is a wonderful piece of code, to port it as a Wordpress plugin
Main features:
- imports wp-shortstat tables and data
- halved db size compared to wp-shortstat
- liquid layout: optimized for 1024×768 and 800×600
- metatags to show stats on your blog (*)
- fully localizable
- improved browser and platform detection
- tracks Wordpress search form
- displays post titles for given resources
- daily reports by mail (*)
- shows visitors and unique IPs, not just hits
- can compress (aggregate) old stats to reduce DB size (*)
- use of a local ip-to-country database
(*) : currently partially done or not available
It’s not simple to code everything, not to mention it’s done in my spare time! I’m currently starting to think about future releases; here is a wish-list (feel free to suggest your entries):
- add a panel to manage a black-list of IP to ignore
- add more metatags to show detailed stats on the website
- RSS feed for some stats
- [alex] ability to choose what to see in the summary
- display charts for some information
- [countzero] layout compatible with Tiger skin
- [nasi] show stats based on wordpress users
- [dirk] show stats about different search engines / spiders
- track screen resolution and other parameters
- [dan] detailed stats for today (see screenshot)
- [joe] remove old hits based on day or month
- [joe] ability to choose local or remote (xml) ip-to-country database
- [jack p] ability to choose permission level to access slimstat
- [jag] change dates and times based on timezone
