It’s hard to imagine any modern video camera or digital camcorder that isn’t a wireless video camera. Indeed, the wireless revolution has reached the digital camcorder market, and now it seems that wireless video cameras are everywhere these days. And the wireless video camera isn’t just relegated to conventional or hand held camcorders as we know them. Video cameras that are installed or part of cell phones or PDAs can also be considered, labeled and identified as a wireless video camera.
Of course, the most attractive aspect of the wireless video camera is, well, it’s wireless! There are no cords or cables to connect to the camcorder, which can severely limit the range and motion that the user can manipulate the video recorder in order to record a movie or film. Now, some wireless video cameras do have some cords or cables that are needed in order to hook up the video camera to the television for playback. But, even that’s becoming wireless too.
That’s because wireless video cameras are now coming with and including wireless receivers too. That means that only the receiver needs to actually be connected to the TV for playback. The video camera can simply be tuned so that the receiver can receive (well, that is what it’s supposed to do!) the signal from the camera. That allows for clear playback without the need, hassle and use of cumbersome wires and cords.
There are some digital camcorders that aren’t completely wireless video cameras. News agencies and professional television broadcasts use large video cameras that often have a whole gaggle of wires coming out from it. Now, for the average wireless video camera user or family, having a large shoulder-mounted video camera isn’t really such a good or convenient idea, nor will you find one at your local electronics retailer either!
The wireless video camera is simply another example of how far wireless technology has come, and where it has reached to.
