One loss you’ll experience in the migration from PC to Ubuntu is the use of your Gmail notifier.
CheckGmail fills that void with its system tray application that checks a Gmail account for new mail. This new version of CheckGmail can now retrieve the full text of any message listed in the popup and display it inline. The Ubuntu Document Storage Facility offers great install instructions.
