It took a while, but someone has finally discovered the perfect way in which to capitalize on that string of Wii-related tragedies that we reported on, a few months back. Sure, there are plenty of more rational options for protecting your beloved flat screen from a flying Wiimote, such as stronger straps, or even, you know, restraint, but why employee those boring methods, when you can simply slip a big, plastic guard over your bigscreen LCD?
Linsey Fryatt is based in London and writes for stuff.tv - the website of the magazine of the gadget. Not many UK folks have a Wii, what with all 50,000 selling out on day one (last Friday). You are looking at a Wii Remote mounted on a robotically controlled swing. A second motor is used to trigger the bowling, by first Pressing the A button and left arrow, and then holding down the B button, swinging, and finally releasing the B button.
Via Next Generation, an interview with CEO of Sony Corporation Sir Howard Stringer on the site CEO Exchange. In the piece they report that Stringer has gone on record as saying the PS3’s price may be its downfall. At the GDC 07 conference video game creators, publishers, manufacturers and consumers have been mingling to talk about the future of the industry. News has been filtering out from the many conferences but one of the biggest stories emerging is that Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto is developing an online Wii Channel where owners can exchange, show-off and enter their virtual characters, dubbed Miis, into contests.
