Dreamgirls isn’t the only Broadway show to make it to the movie theaters this year. Last week I went to see a screening of ShowBusiness a documentary on the 2003/2004 Broadway season, produced and directed by Dori Berinstein, a three time Tony award winning producer who in the midst of mounting her 11th Broadway show, Legally Blonde (based on the Reese Witherspoon comedy) opening this April. The film, in theaters May 11th follows four shows which opened that season, Avenue Q, Wicked, Caroline or Change and Taboo through their production processes, opening nights, awards nominations and in the case of Taboo, closings.
