Google Starts to Index Images Uploaded to Blogger

Source : googlesystem - Even if this sounds hard to believe, Google Image Search started to index images uploaded to Blogger in December 2007. Until this month, all the images were prevented from being indexed by search engines for unknown reasons. This move is closely related to the fact that the images hosted at Picasa Web Albums started to be indexed by Google.

We7 is a strangely named music download service which promises free, DRM-free, ad-supported mp3 downloads. Cnet.co.uk claims that the service “absolutely, categorically will not succeed.” I agree with this assessment of the We7’s

Meet We7, the latest addition to the web’s growing collection of music download services — but this fresh outlet employs a novel approach. Spearheaded by Genesis singer Peter Gabriel, a renowned forward thinker in the digital music realm, We7 offers free downloads financially supported by brief advertisements inserted before the beginning of each track. Theoretically, the service scratches all parties’ back; the user receives free tunes, advertisers reach an ideal and refined audience, label’s rake in the cash, and artists get paid as well. But the problem, which scores of bloggers are sounding off about, is that many users feel the musical experience may be soured by an advertisement, forcing compu-geeks to edit out the tune’s ad, completely undermining the effort — an issue likely foreseen by potential ad slot buyers.

100,000 Mobile Bloggers in the Philippines

Ok, all this discussion about what makes mobile blogging not yet popular in the Philippine landscape may have now been answered.

According to a very reliable source, there used to be more than 100,000 active/registered mobile bloggers in the Philippines and that’s just for Smart alone (both text and photos). Even if we don’t count the ones from Globe, that IS a huge number in my dictionary already.

MySpace is likely to be bigger and more influential than the blogosphere

This weekend I took some time off from the Web 2.0 echo-chamber to explore some more mainstream social software. My conclusions? MySpace is likely to be bigger and more influential than the blogosphere within a matter of months (if it isn’t already).

Now this is all pretty intuitive and I probably don’t need to explain it - simply put, the youth demographic consists of extremely sociable early adopters who remain constantly connected via cellphones and the Internet.*
