There’s been a lot of discussion over the last few hours regarding a Microsoft website that apparently got defaced. While the domain name has been taken offline, the defacement itself was rather obvious. Users browsing the page were shown a typical “0wn3d by” message with a picture taken of Bill Gates during what was probably his least pleasant visit to Belgium in 1998.
Bill Gates is finally getting his Harvard degree — 32 years after he walked away from the university on the path to becoming the world’s wealthiest person.
Gates, billionaire co-founder of Microsoft Corp., philanthropist and college dropout, will receive an honorary degree June 7 when he delivers Harvard University’s 356th commencement address.

Today at RSA, Bill Gates talked about Internet Explorer 7. As the guy responsible for IE, I wanted to say a couple of things about it.
First, some basics: we’re committing to deliver a new version of Internet Explorer for Windows XP customers. Betas of IE7 will be available this summer. This new release will build on the work we did in Windows XP SP2 and (among other things) go further to defend users from phishing as well as deceptive or malicious software.
On Tuesday, Bill Gates reiterated Microsoft’s claim that Windows Vista, which launched last month, was the most secure operating system in the company’s history. But he acknowledged that all software has “weak links” — particularly when thieves steal servers with confidential information, or when employees use simple, obvious passwords on multiple accounts.
