MySpace is likely to be bigger and more influential than the blogosphere

This weekend I took some time off from the Web 2.0 echo-chamber to explore some more mainstream social software. My conclusions? MySpace is likely to be bigger and more influential than the blogosphere within a matter of months (if it isn’t already).

Now this is all pretty intuitive and I probably don’t need to explain it - simply put, the youth demographic consists of extremely sociable early adopters who remain constantly connected via cellphones and the Internet.*

SXSW: Publishers, Where are You?

On a private mailing list for publishers, Peter Brantley pointed to Booksquare’s open letterSouth by Southwest logo to publishers, wondering why the heck they aren’t at SXSW in Austin? He quoted extensively from the open letter:

What is a feed?

A feed is a file format for sharing news, blog posts or other web content across websites. The site that makes its content available as a source of information is said to publish a feed, while the tools and sites that use that content are said to consume the feed.

myFeedz is both a feed consumer because it reads news and blogs from all over the internet and also a feed publisher because it provides feeds for all the lists displayed.
