The Great Lakes…If they were on IMDB

The Great Lakes have always loomed Mt. Rushmore-like in my life. I grew up in Michigan and my dad is a sailor, so from a young age I knew to be ashamed if I couldn’t rattle off the stats: “They-contain-1/5-of-the-world’s-fresh-surface-water!” and “Lake-Superior-is-larger-than-South-Carolina!” or “Michigan-has-more-coastline-than-any-other-state-but-Alaska!”

YouTube Site Returns to Morocco and Morocco Video

Internet users in Morocco who have been unable to access YouTube have voiced concern that it is being deliberately blocked by the authorities.

Moroccans were able to access the video-sharing site YouTube on Wednesday for the first time since access was blocked last week.

Hogzilla Hoax Monster Pig Photos Real

 

Is it a humongous hog, a monster mistake, or a huge hoax?

That’s the question being asked Tuesday about a stunning photo distributed last Friday by the Associated Press that purports to show an 11-year-old Alabama boy standing behind a half-ton wild hog his father said he bagged with a pistol.

The boy, Jamison Stone, looks tiny in the photo as he stands behind his prize pig, which his father claims measures 9 feet 4 inches, and weighs 1,051 pounds.

World’s Fastest Elevator Installed In World’s Tallest Building

Toshiba Elevator and Building Systems Corp announced the installation of the world’s fastest passenger elevator just exactly where it is needed - in Taipei 101, the world’s tallest building. The elevator runs at a top speed of 1,010 meters per minute when ascending (600 meters per minute on the way down), which works out ot 60.6 kilometers per hour.
