CNBC/MSNBC/WSJ GOP Debate will be held at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center in Dearborn Michigan in Detroit. It will be additionally televised live on CNBC, Tuesday October 9th at 4PM ET, then re-broadcast on MSNBC at 9 PM ET. ALongside this, for the more internet-savvy among us, it is being streamed live on CNBC online, moderated by CNBC’s Maria Bartiromo and MSNBC’s Chris Matthews. Ron Paul as a candidate for president of the USA is obviously going to be there, alongside Fred Thomson. As Detroit’s economy is suffering because of the declining US automotive market, Dr Ron Paul is expected ot have af resh take on the issue, distinct to other candidates. Although a wish of good luck is probably unnecessary, good luck to Paul as we’re sure it’ll be a major success!

For anyone who wants a good recap of last night’s Republican presidential debate from Durham, N.H., Fox News Channel has a very good summary on its web site with some Fred Thompson coverage thrown in.
Many were calling Sen. John McCain the debate’s winner. It wasn’t the first time he’s been declared the winner of a debate. It hasn’t helped him improve his standing in the past and it probably won’t this time either.
The debate’s highlight was didn’t even feature McCain prominently. Instead, it was when Rep. Ron Paul and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee commenced to wailing on each over the Iraq War.

While Democrats and Republicans on the Hill continue their “Yeah but now I’m against it” routine, Texas Congressman Ron Paul doesn’t have to issue any apologies. He was always against the invasion and occupation of Iraq, and he’s running for president.
Paul is a libertarian Republican who constantly enrages the GOP because he actually believes in a small federal government and sound fiscal policies. He’s anti-death penalty, anti-drug laws, anti-police state, anti- Patriot Act and anti-anything that’s not authorized by the Constitution. Texas Dems now love him for his “principled anti-war stance,” while pro-abortion voters don’t need to worry about the obstetrician/gynecologist’s strong pro-life stance — he knows the federal government has no right to get involved in such stuff. And as California just proved, states can figure out universal health care and global-warming rules while the federal government can’t do anything.
