Quicksilver: Clipboard Paper Tape

rfid news

Use Quicksilver? Need to keep a live “paper tape” of items you copy to and from the clipboard? Clipboard History is the answer to your problem.

When the Capture History feature (something that even experienced Quicksilver users sometimes overlook) is turned on, it stores your clipboard’s history in a searchable format for future usage, even after a crash or a restart.

To use, make sure the Clipboard Module is activated under the program menu in Quicksilver/Plug-ins. Then, go to Quicksilver/Preferences, select “Clipboard”, enable the “Capture History” checkbox and enter a value.

You can set the value to whatever you would like (it’s pretty much a question of how much memory you have). To avoid having to go to the Quicksilver/Plug-ins/Clipboard History menu item every time you want to access it, either set a keyboard shortcut for it, or position the window close to a the edge of the screen and press the + [maximize] button on the window — this will attach it neatly to the window’s side and work somewhat like the Dock does with hiding enabled.
