MSI GX600 Gaming Laptop

MSI GX600 Gaming LaptopIntroduction : Not too long ago, gaming on a notebook (and we don’t mean Solitaire here) was an alien concept.

Only the very best and expensive models were capable of emulating their desktop counterparts for demanding 3D games; the majority were still associated with work and business use.

Since then, notebooks have grown in stature and performance and are increasingly replacing desktops in roles like multimedia entertainment and gaming.

PC maker didn’t provide further details on how Turbo Drive Engine works, but Anh Huynh from DailyTech says processor in the Turbobook - showcased at Computex show in Taipei - is a 2 GHz Core 2 Duo with an 800 MHz front-side bus and when you press the Turbo button, it raises the front-side bus 20% to 960 MHz for 2.4 GHz.

“It’s not a bad idea if you’re on the go a lot, but want a little more CPU power when the system is plugged in. The difference between a Core 2 Duo T7200 (2.0 GHz) and T7600 (2.33 GHz) is $425 (Dell upgrade option on XPS),” Huynh explains.
