Homologous Electrical Difference Analysis

rfid news

The defining feature of the Z-Tech® breast scan screening test is Homologous Electrical Difference Analysis (HEDA™).

The HEDA method (pronouced hee dah) uses side-to-side comparison of the impedance of many mirror image (homologous) breast regions; three such comparisons are shown in the breast models on the right. If the compared homologous measurements have the same or almost equal impedance value, as they will if there is no abnormality in the current pathway, the impedance difference will cancel out or be small.

If the pathway contains an abnormality that changes impedance, as cancer does, the difference becomes much larger. The larger the difference, the more likely it is that the variance is due to the presence of a malignancy.
