Anothe problem associated with an aging population is the coming shortage of health care professionals.

Currently, experienced physicians are typically 55 or older, and, as a whole, older on average than the U.S. workforce. Today, approximately 30% of doctors are older than 54 vs. 14% of the U.S. employment base. And, older doctors tend to work fewer hours. Over 45% of physicians are over 45.

Obviously, demand will outstrip supply. This makes it doubly important that each of us as individuals take personal responsibility for much of our own health care. Staying health is by best way to avoid being impacted by the coming manpower shortages in health care for and aging humanity.
