Walt Disney’s ESPN network is buying cricket website Cricinfo from the Wisden Group as it looks to expand its online service to sports fans.
The 14-year-old database offers statistics and commentary on cricket matches around the world. ESPN websites include one dedicated to soccer and another for Spanish speakers.
Cricinfo, which carries the statistics of all 45,000 cricketers who have played the game at first-class level, says it reaches more than 7 million users every month.
