idea for a bracket to allow me to rest a laptop in a usable position

Anyone who knows me even a little knows how much I love hammocks. I had this idea for a bracket to allow me to rest a laptop in a usable position in a hammock a while back. I finally ran through a couple versions today (70°F and Sunny in Austin, TX).

It allows you to sit up and type or lay back and watch video on the laptop.

Here is the prototype of version 0.2:

He also suggested I place a brace accross the space below the laptop to make it stronger. I am not sure my ColdHeat solder pen can handle that kind of welding work.

Addendum: Another improvement that occured to me was to use bent flat metal strips insead of a coathanger. I would need to put a narrow hook on the strips though to get through the hammock webbing.

Further ‘testing’ proved that the grip of the gaffer’s tape was enough to keep the laptop from sliding out under mild to medium hammock turbulence. :) I may put up video of the test just for fun.
