Client-Side Web Programming Certificate

Has anyone heard about this program? After listening to me talk about class for the last 16 weeks, one of my co-workers has become interested in Ajax programming and found a certificate program being offered by O’Reilly and the University of Illinois Office of Continuting Education.

This series is comprised of three courses that span web scripting from basic to complex. Students learn the core technical skills necessary for a complete understanding of front-end web development, from HTML and CSS, to JavaScript DOM and AJAX. In O’Reilly Learning’s unique online Learning Sandbox®, students have access to their own web progamming environments where new skills can be applied as they are presented.Completion of the 3-course series earns students a Certificate of Professional Development from the University of Illinois Office of Continuing Education. All courses are certified by the University of Illinois Office of Continuing Education, and students receive Continuing Education Credits upon completion of each course in the series

He is interested in any information or opinions on this program. His main concern is that the program isn’t accredited and may not be viewed as valid despite being backed by the University of Illinois.
