Cingular will Unlock Your Phone for Free

Wayne Ma over at CrunchGear has reported Cingular Unlocked his Cingular BlackJack for free. He simply called Cingular’s International Care Center at (916) 843-4685 and spoke with a customer service representative, who confirmed that he could unlock all Cingular phones for international travel. To unlock the Blackjack, he read the service representative his International Mobile Equipment Identity, or IMEI, number, which can be found on the product box or by entering the code *#06# on the Blackjack’s keypad. The Cingular rep than walked him through the process. A nice tip and saves you paying an unlocking service $35.
